The Certificate in Community Storytelling
Improve your storytelling skills while learning how to build and strengthen community within a transformative, collaborative, and supportive learning environment. The Hearth offers training in the Certificate in Community Storytelling for anyone interested in learning how to use the power of personal storytelling to heal, enrich, and mobilize communities for good.

Compassionate Listening
The Hearth Community is offering volunteer Compassionate Listeners as a resource for the survivors of the fires that destroyed more than 2,800 structures in southern Oregon. We are training volunteers in compassionate listening techniques, collecting survivors’ stories and helping to connect volunteers with individuals, resource sites, nonprofit organizations and relief efforts across southern Oregon.
The Art and Craft of Personal Storytelling
Learn to tell stories that transform. In this one-day workshop, Hearth founder and veteran storyteller Mark Yaconelli will help you learn how to excavate, craft, and share impactful stories from your own life. Through contemplative exercises, small group sharing, and a variety of narrative practices you will learn how to use personal storytelling for speaking, teaching, community-building, and personal growth. This is a great introduction to the art of storytelling for teachers, parents, nonprofit leaders, business professionals, faith leaders, activists and anyone who wants to improve their skills in crafting and sharing stories.
