The Hearth currently is offering a seven-month certification program to assist community and organizational leaders in learning a variety of skills, techniques, and processes for producing community storytelling programs. The training program began with a three-day workshop  March 20-23, 2019 and will end with a closing intensive October 23-26, 2019 in Ashland, Oregon. Between the spring and fall workshops, participants are gathering online for training, troubleshooting, and discussion and to receive individual coaching with The Hearth founder, Mark Yaconelli.

The October intensive will be held at The First United Methodist Church in Ashland, 175 N. Main Street. The program schedule will be as follows:

Oct 23 (Weds) 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. Dinner and Re-Orientation
Oct 24 (Thurs) 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Training
Oct 25 (Fri) 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Training
Oct 26 (Sat) 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Training

Snacks and lunch are included with registration. There will be a lunch break every day from approximately 12:00-1:00 p.m.

There will be an (optional) celebratory excursion on Saturday the 26th at the conclusion of the training.

Continuing Education Units are available through a partnership with Southern Oregon University (SOU). (Note: The Hearth is an independent nonprofit organization that is not an affiliate or program of SOU; certificates awarded are solely presented by The Hearth and do not confer endorsement of any kind by SOU beyond conferment of Continuing Education Units.)
