A Community Story Exchange
Jun 6, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm PDT
| FreeThis season’s Hearth is going to look a little different. In this special, participatory gathering, Hearth founder Mark Yaconelli will facilitate a story-based process that encourages empathy for ourselves and others through the exchange of personal narratives. In a story exchange, individuals are randomly paired together. Each participant then shares a story that in some way defines them. Afterwards, each partner is responsible for telling the other person’s story in the first person. The process will begin with exercises in active listening and close with a group conversation about actions we are invited to take as a result of the exchange. Due to the intimacy of this process this gathering will be limited to 100 registered participants. There is no charge to pre-register, though donations are accepted online or at the door.
Location: Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 87 4th Street, Ashland.
