The Hearth has been contracted by Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary to help develop and oversee training programs for 100 leaders from 50 strategic and diverse congregations and organizations as well as 25 independent Christian leaders in the art of community storytelling. In this grant-funded, experimental program each congregation or Christian organization will commit a pastor (or organizational leader) and a lay leader/volunteer to participate. They will begin by using the practice of story to strengthen relationships within congregations and then grow story circles with neighbors to address rampant loneliness and deepen connection and community-building.
Applications for churches are due June 30th. Interested churches, orgazations, and Christian leaders, can find more information and applications to the grant funded program at The Austin Story Project.
