One of the sadnesses of the pandemic is the inability to meet in person for our regular community Hearth events. The last time we were able to gather in the same room to share stories and songs was back in February for our 10th anniversary. In this time of disconnection, we have worked to find a safe way to come together. The Hearth and De La Raíz have collaborated on a special online event presenting stories and music by local residents affected by the Almeda fires. Focused on experiences of resiliency, courage, and hope, the evening will offer a selection of stories from our Spanish and English speaking communities (with bilingual translations). Hosted by Mark Yaconelli and Erica Ledesma, the gathering was filmed at Camelot Theatre in Talent and will be presented online for two special showings on December 17th and 18th at 7pm. All donations for this event will benefit Rogue Valley Fire Relief Fund. Tellers include Judith Corona Chavez, Darby Ayers-Flood, Estefania Ortiz-Madera, Elib Crist-Dwyer, Leonso Solis, and Misty Muñoz . Musicians include Juan Sauceda and Sage Meadows.
