One of the most popular heart and soul musicians from the U.K., Martyn Joseph, is coming through Ashland Monday night.  Martyn has toured and played with Ani DiFranco, Suzanne Vega, Jools Holland, Chris DeBurgh, Mark Cohn, Joan Armatrading, and countless others.  (For more information and music samples go here). He has won numerous awards for his songwriting and performing as well as in his work as a social justice advocate. I was frankly shocked to see that he’s going to be playing an intimate show at the Playwright in Ashland (I’ve watched him perform in front of 20,000 at the Greenbelt Arts Festival).  The Boston Globe called Martyn, “a profound experience.”

In addition to Martyn’s music, he has invited me to tell a story at the show.  So in the tradition of the Hearth, I’ll share a true story of love and redemption.

If you’re up for a night of powerful music and stories email Mark at Yaconelli@msn.com to reserve a $15 ticket.  The event happens this Monday, February 6, at 7:30pm, at the Playwright across from Ace Hardware in Ashland.

There are only about 10 tickets left so email me soon.
